12 Comments:

  1. I thinkTen must have reassigned the bit rates to favour Ten and One. So far I am happy with the picture quality provided. If they do a good job it should help Ten’s slow recovery quite a bit.
Trev I have waited for Luge and Bobsleigh for 4 years — getting excited now. The streams on my App running on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1″ are also quite good full screen. This may turn out to be the best free coverage ever – well I hope so anyway. If they show stuff I don’t want to see, my tablet will get a workout during that time LOL. 🙂

  2. @ Wolfie Boy,
Your two favorites happen to be mine as well.
My missus will watch the figure skating and ice dancing. In all fairness if 10 can provide coverage as good as the cricket, all should be well. The Ruskies will be hoping the same, $60 Billion US.
Boy, that’s a lot of vodka.

I wonder if they are having the Skeleton. You prang in the Luge, it could mean two broken legs. Prang in the Skeleton they bury you.

  3. @trev – BBL was highlights only. Final is on tonight, thus fewer viewers. From past years people will watch any Olympics from Russia for sports and controversy reasons. I suspect viewer numbers will be good and provide best results ever for One. Luge and Bobsleigh and high jumping are my favourites. For my wife, the first two after ice dancing – Such is married life we will watch it together. 🙂
I know people with foxtel who only have an SD set top box for FTA TV. Now they are shocked they can’t see One. I guess a few TV and set top box sales will result. LOL 🙂

  4. Thought the BBL and Sochi highlights would have made a modest impression, but no such luck.
As a summer sport nation, Oz may not be as interested in the winter events as some imagine.
I will be watching those genuine events, but not the figure skating as the judging leaves a lot to be desired. You can usually tell who’s going to win gold at the next Olympics at the end of this years figure skating. You simply have to wait your turn.

  5. Wow! Whem MKR is on, more people seam to be watching tv. Congratulations Channel 7. Am over the Block-been going on too long!!
Piety about Million Dollar Minute_- won’t be around much longer with those ratings

  6. @billy66683 – I feel the same but shows about trendy things rate. People get a Tattoo and then regret it – so they want to learn how it can/can’t be removed etc.
Same with Border Control programs – boring as hell but people have been brainwashed into thinking that this is really important. It is playing with people’s fears and emotions and has often been a ratings success – boring TV but ratings winner = sad world 🙁
Winter Olympics 2:20am Saturday morning, not long to wait and 8 channels streamed to your tablet App, search for APP in Google Play or I-Store.

  7. Oh dear Network Ten. Only one show in the top 20. And what’s become of your beloved The Project?

They must be desperately hoping for a good result from the Winter Olympics. During which no doubt we’ll be bombarded with promos for their shows “after Sochi”. To the point it’ll be a turn-off instead of a reason to watch them!
