Really, really poor form by 9.
It was incredibly disingenuous of them to re-badge an episode of Aircrash Confidential, which looks at multiple crashes/incidents with similar causes, to make people think that it was exclusively looking at QF32.
Without doubt one of the worst documentaries ever produced. Awful. Beyond belief bad.
9 should have bumped it to Go or Gem it was that bad.
@craigj77 The Air Crash Investigation QF32 ep will actually air on NatGeo (overseas, not here of course) this week.
This is like the Seconds from Disaster and Air Crash Investigations.
“most well publicised aircraft calamities’ in history”
Wait a minute. This was a 0/0/0 incident. Zero dead, zero injuries and zero aircraft lost. By what journalist standard does this become a calamity?
@craig
The episode is scheduled to go for an hour.
And Nine will loose out to INXS on ch7. Still will be interesting to see how they stretch out this ‘special investigation’ over 2 hours, I would have thought a segment on 60 Min would be enough.
And OMG not another crappy TV movie!
@ Jake S.
They can’t Nat Geo have first-air rights, besides that episode hasn’t even premiered in Canada yet.
Could be up to 12 months before 7 can show the QF32 episode.
“Peter Overton presents a special investigation “. Keen to see how much of the “special investigation” “Peter Overton” was involved in. Or is it S13, E10 of a series with several “AKA” names. Mayday, Air Emergency, Air Crash Investigations?
This event occurred in 2010. Been a long “special investigation”.
@craigj77 – Somehow I think they may look very much like one and the same.
Channel Seven, which also has the rights to Air Crash Investigations, should have scheduled the QF32 episode of ACI to air before Nine’s rip off.
There is an upcoming ep of Air Crash Investigation about this as well. Nat Geo is currently airing the current series, the QF32 ep should appear in a month or so.
“Mayday Mayday: Terror on QF32”
Is it a coincidence that Mayday (Air Crash Investigation here) is about to air their QF32 episode as part of their latest season.
Nine wouldn’t try to confuse people into thinking it’s that one would they?
This should of aired last night, not much people will watch it.
What an absolutely horrible “made for TV-movie” title this program has
