On Monday night SBS revamps its schedule beginning with a new season of Mythbusters, followed by Vikings and RocKwiz.
The Mythbusters crew have emerged from the lab with some of their best experiments yet for a brand new series.
Mythbusters’ Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, along with their fellow super geeks Kari, Tory and Grant are ready to bring sexy back to science and push their expertise to the limit. The gang mix, launch, explode, race, smash, shake, inflate, crash and bang their way through a bunch of brand new experiments as they separate fact from fiction. Using modern day science, they will stop at nothing to find the truth behind life’s most perplexing what ifs, rumours, myths, movie scenes, Internet videos, news stories and urban legends to decide if they are ‘confirmed’, ‘plausible’ or totally ‘busted’.
In the new season, it’s literally car crash television when Hollywood action clichés are put to their paces, including driving through glass and firing at an SUV. In an episode dedicated to moonshine, the Mythbusters find out if you could really fuel a car on a batch of home brew. Five firearm follies are put to the test. Can you fire a gun in space? Will a gun dropped in a deep fryer go off?
Episode One: Killer Ping Pong Ball / Ice Cannon
In tonight’s series return, Adam and Jamie tackle the tall tale that supersonic ping-pong can go lethally wrong! Meanwhile, Kari, Grant and Tory tackle the ballistic mystery from history Ice Cannon.
7:30pm Mondau SBS ONE.
