Rove to guest co-host The Project

It's like a Rove Live reunion next week as Rove joins Carrie and Pete at the desk on TEN.

image004.jpgRove McManus is guest co-host on The Project next week, the show produced by his production company.

He re-unites with his former Rove Live cohorts, Carrie Bickmore and Pete Helliar, strategically timed for the same week that MasterChef launches.

“If there is one thing that can guarantee to bring me home it is the idea of getting the band back together with Pete and Carrie. Being back doing live TV for a week with those two will feel like a reunion, except that Carrie is now reading real news and Pete isn’t trying to do a French accent,” he said.

“It will be great to be able to immerse myself in The Project for the week and be part of that incredible team. I’ll do my very best to keep up and try to return the show in the pristine condition I found it in when I’m done.”

Next week’s guests on The Project include MasterChef Australia judge Matt Preston, plus we catch up with Jessica Mauboy in Copenhagen ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest and chat to Bryan Cranston, Zac Efron, Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen.

  1. Loved the Project tonight, I have always left with a smile on my face especially tonight with Rove hosting I was beaming , love them all Carrie, Peter, Rove , just like old days , it is who I look forward to , thank you guys for the good feeling you give ! Look forward to more of the same 🙂

  2. Looking forward yo seeing robe again. Have to say this revolving host thing is just not working. If you have to revolve the host at least do with people that can host. Will and Kate ( not the royals) were very average. But would be good guest panelists. Rotate Waled and andrew Rochfotd. At least they can host.

  3. This is great news. Ten should do everything in it’s power to get Rove back here to do a weekly nightly show.
On another note get Sarah Harris more on the project!

  4. I like The Project, but I’m afraid Kate this week was truly awful. 10 need some new talent, Meshel Laurie, Peter Helliar and NG Nelson tell the same type of joke week after week. Waleed and Lehmo at least provide variety.

  5. I have missed Rove on TV. Looking forward to next week. Nothing personal against Kate Langbrook but I really don’t think she is suitable for the desk. She was very annoying so I had to turn over unfortunately as this is one of my favourite shows.

  6. I think I will tune in to see the gang back together. Its good to see Rove back on our screens. One of the industries nice guys.

  7. This is awesome! Will be very interesting to see how he goes being serious. Surely it has to be better than Will Anderson’s attempt. But I have to ask, how much longer are TEN/Meakin going to keep The Project in limbo with an unending list of guest hosts filling Charlie’s role? Surely they could have found a permanent replacement by now? Having guest after guest just makes it seem like the show doesn’t have any stability. One week we tune into the very serious and well timed Waled and the next it’s all jokes with Will – something has to give.
