Either way, Hot Seat will modify its format next week when six players from six states play across the week, vying for a “mega cash jackpot.”

It reaches a climax on the same night that Family Feud begins on TEN. Now waiting to see if Seven will creatively load Million Dollar Minute for the same week.

One lucky contestant will get the chance to win the biggest cash prize ever on Millionaire Hot Seat when the Mega Cash Jackpot Special begins Monday, July 7, at 5.30pm on Channel Nine.

In this Hot Seat special the same six contestants will play for six nights, battling it out to win $1 million each night.

Each night the winner will take home half of their winnings. The other half goes into a big jackpot that all six contestants will return to play off for – as well as a final shot at the million dollars – on Monday, July 14.

With a guaranteed cash build over five episodes, the six lucky contestants – one from each State in Australia – get an unprecedented chance to win a record amount on Millionaire Hot Seat.

Representing Tasmania is Lisa Dunham, 26, a part-time psychologist who enjoys energy drinks so much she’s writing a thesis on energy drink consumption in adolescents.

Carl Wheelwright, 45, is flying the flag for New South Wales. He hopes his general knowledge is as impressive as his eating abilities – he came second in a hot dog eating contest in Hawaii.

Medical student Jacques Eastment, 23, is playing for Queensland. Will his impressive title of “Australia’s Brainiest Medical Student” hold up when he lands in the Hot Seat?

This isn’t the first time 60-year-old Sarah Leaver, playing for South Australia, has been in the Channel Nine studios. When she was 11 she featured on the children’s show Channel Niners.

Western Australia will be represented by Rob Palmonari, 47, who in 2001 shot a low-budget “mockumentary” about the mysterious ingredient in Chicko Rolls for the Tropfest short film festival.

Playing for Victoria is Carla Moss, 29, who is no stranger to adrenaline-charged situations. While holidaying in Guatemala she walked over hot flowing lava on an active volcano and almost drowned in deep water inside a cave.

One of these six contestants playing for the Mega Cash Jackpot has the opportunity to walk away with the largest cash prize ever given away on Millionaire Hot Seat. Be watching at 5.30pm from Monday, July 7, to see if your State makes Hot Seat history.
