  1. Oh..and use to like Ready, Steady Cook…the earlier version….
I have just found they are showing RSC at 6AM on Friday mornings…repeats…wayyy too early for me.

  2. OMG….I cannot make a list….I loved most of the shows mentioned…Prisoner….No.96….Carsons Law…the original Big Brother…before it was messed around with…
And I agree with stevie g……all the overseas offerings…loved Twin Peaks…and The Nanny….so many memories.

  3. Why are we not including overseas shows that had their original primetime run on ten? In the 90s ten was the go-to channel for all the coolest US shows – The Simpsons, Twin Peaks, Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place, Seinfeld, The Nanny, The X Files. As a kid in the 70s there was The Brady Bunch, Gilligans Island and The Land of the Lost to name a few. Having said that my all time Favorite ten show is Neighbours. 🙂

  4. The only show that I’m surprised isn’t on that list is Fat Cat and Friends. I mean that’s almost like not including Humphrey as one of Nine’s major kids shows as they both ran for ages and were huge. I’m sure Fat Cat was on Channel 10 but I remember it being on Channel 7 as well.

  5. @Veritas
I remember Holiday Island. It was a rare flop by Crawfords.
It also featured what I think was the last acting appearance by Gaynor Martin before she married Glenn Wheatley.
The resort set is now Lassiter’s in Neighbours.

  6. Being originally from the MIA (until recently), and only approaching my 20s, I haven’t had the luxury of Network 10 until 2010, when MDN launched! However, the first Network 10 show I did discover (I think by accident) was Rush. Only having known 10 for about 4 years now, I don’t know what I have done without it! There are excellent shows on it, but no one pays enough attention to find out!

  7. Favourites include Rove Live, Thank God You’re Here, Talkin’ About Your Generation, Australian Idol, Big Brother (and associated shows), & SYTYCD. Worst might be It’s A Knockout remake, Everybody Dance Now or George Neugus 6pm.

  8. What about???

    The Henderson Kids
    Rush
    The Earlybird Show
    Young Talent Time
Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?
    Richmond Hill
    The Batchelor Australia
So You Think You Can Dance
    Good Morning Australia
    The Circle

Anyway I vote for : Prisoner.

  9. @Matt F – you beat me to it! Let’s all go and vote for Uplate With Hotdogs right now. I still think that must have been a weird dream I once had.

  10. Sorry to double post but who remembers Holiday Island? In a previous anniversary show, TEN themselves poked fun at it. It was a Home and Away-type series set on a tropical holiday resort, but to save money it was shot in Melbourne during winter. You could actually see the foggy breath when the actors spoke, it was so cold.

  11. I liked Big Brother uncut. It was shameful to see the barrage of wowser propaganda started by the Daily Telegraph which resulted in TEN taking it off. Of course the political blackmail by PM John Howard and the conservatives was even more shameful. Howard called on TEN to take it off and when they wouldn’t, the conservative independents in the Senate (who held the balance of power) used Big Brother Uncut as a bargaining chip when TEN management wanted new industry regulations passed.

  12. Definitely agree with JJ about Prisoner.
Used to love this show – watched it religiously.
So many well known Australian actresses, young and old, debutted/ “cut their teeth” on this wonderful show and went on to bigger,( but not always), better things.

    Have also included:
Puberty Blues ( Brilliant – one of my all time favourite telly shows ever)
    The Comedy Company
    Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Gen
    Heartbreak High
    E Street
    The Restless Years
    Early Big Brother
    on the list

Some of these are for purely nostalgic reasons as they were by no means great shows…

  13. Prisoner would easily have to be the best show Channel 10 has ever made. It showed it didn’t have to take a high budget to make something so spectacular. It had feeling and a certain magic that was unbeatable. The question is, why oh why can’t they make something as good as that now?

  14. I chose:

    Prisoner
    The Comedy Company
    The Secret Life of Us
    It’s A Knockout
    Neighbours
    Wonder World
    Offspring
    Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation
    Rove Live
    Let The Blood Run Free

  15. Yasmin’s Getting Married, Uplate With Hotdogs, House From Hell, Alan Jones Live, The Spearman Experiment, The Hothouse, The Resort, The Shire, Echo Point, Breakers.

  16. Would have voted for Before The Game only it’s not included in Tens list.

PS David your link doesn’t work. I had to find it on the Tenplay website.
