  1. @Dalmanic – I have SBS On Demand on my Samsung TV and the picture quality is excellent (though I have cable internet and watch via direct cable not Wi-Fi) and there are no watermarks. However there are ad breaks during the movies usually two to four breaks depending on the length of the movie that show one ad each break that go for 15 secs (and one at the start that is usually 20 secs long).

It would be better without them, however it doesn’t bother me that much (guess I’ve become accustomed to it) and I am a boring old fart as well (well 54 anyway), so take that as you will.

  2. As a BOF (boring old …) I find the idea of watching anything, especially a movie, on a tiny phone screen, absolutely amazing! (Not in a good way).
However on a larger screen, I might be interested!
But – first I need to know there won’t be any ad breaks in the movie, or pollution on the screen like station ID watermarks.
Cause if there are, I’m not interested at all.
Foxtel movie channels supply a clean, uninterrupted movie.

  3. SBS on demand is available on windows phone. The English movies available on the SBS windows phone app at the moment are Mulholland Drive and Sin City if anyone is interested. Sin City is about to expire in a few days.

  4. Hmmm-great if you happen to have unlimited download bandwidth-all of these have been shown previously by them and now that SBS is screening 2 or 3 movies night late/early morning in addition to their usual line up, you’ll probably see them screened again over a year or so-I would much rather have seen more of the stuff from the 80s/90s and on which hasn’t been seen recently-all those Yugoslav, Polish, Czech , French films that don’t get a guernsey these days.
