Tonight SBS 2 begins Cordon, a new Belgian drama about a disease outbreak.
This is a 10 part 2014series which kicks off with a double episode.
Everyday life in the centre of Antwerp comes to a sudden standstill when the area is
hermetically sealed off from the outside world. The cause is a contagious and deadly virus
which spreads like wildfire. The citizens of the city are suddenly left to their own devices. It
brings out the very best in some, but the worst in others.
Episode One (9.25pm)
When a contagion is diagnosed at the NIIZA, director Cannaerts takes no chances: he has the
neighborhood where it originated sealed off for 48 hours. This is unfortunate luck for Miss Katja,
who is on a class excursion in the area, and for Jana, who was just about to move out.
Episode Two (10.25pm)
For Lex, the implementation of the cordon passes without much mishap. The people who are
being put in quarantine for 48 hours react the Belgian way: managing on their own and
complaining about the government.
Tuesday, 27 January at 8.30pm on SBS 2.

Repeats Thursday 11pm on SBS2.
How strange – Cordon has been running on Foxtel’s Studio station – and we’ve had 5 or 6 episodes already!
Yeah, this was pretty good and quite realistic. Better than expected.
Thanks, David. Will check this out.
By that last line I’m guessing that it was originally going to be at 8:30 but we’re now getting ’50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy’ instead. Even on SBS, “reality” is pushing drama out to 9:30ish.
Thank you for this notification. Would have totally missed it other wise. Much appreciated.
