  1. I bought Series 7 on I tunes- because I hate ads- but can’t see it in Australia now (legally) until Channel 9 airs it- why do they bother buying these series if they have no plan to show them anyway! I don’t watch live TV anymore, Channel Ten did the same thing to Glee, mucked around so much with its airing dates that people gave up. Come on Netflix

  2. As noted in a different media, nine takes The Mentalist of it’s schedule. The Jane watcher in our household is taking Gallipoli off hers. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

  3. Someone had better tell WIN. On Saturday night (21/2) they were madly promoting on WIN, GEM and GO! The Mentalist Wed 9:45 in every other commercial break, with a plug for Forever that was due to follow it.
On Fri and Sat nights their EPGs were showing programs/movies different to what was being aired.
Knight and Day. As many runs as The Devil Wears Prada and 27 Dresses.

  4. How on earth do the Australian networks attract any advertisiers when the schedules are constantly being changed within days of broadcast – barely a day goes by here without a schedule change being announced.

As for pulling series it is such an outdated practice even the US networks don’t really do it anymore (even with new series). They’ve finally realised it’s better to accept the audience you have until you have something ready to replace a failing series rather than go chasing a mythical larger audience which chances are might not actually exist.

  5. TasTv makes a very valid comment here.
I’m a fan of The Closer and Major Crimes.
The DVD release of the second and, now, third season has been majorly restrained by the FTA rule.
This is just nonsense. The third season of Major Crimes has been aired in America many moons ago yet still to air here, and we can’t get it on DVD..?

  6. The Nine network has struck again, one of the few I watched on Nine, any news of Gotham, Makes it hard for the DVD release also, as it can not be released until it has been on FTA. But as it is a WB series, probably forget all about it because it will be a long wait.

  7. I wonder why Ch9 don’t onsell the latest season of The Mentalist to Ch10 (a CBS show). That way 10 could have something different in their lineup. They could also get access to the original eps, so could start from the beginning after the current eps, and probably offer it earlier than a 10pm start.

  8. Well if the show rated so low they dumped it in non-ratings what did they think it was going to do starting at nearly 10pm behind Forever when there is more competition?

Forever probably won’t last much longer either.

      1. I find the show charming for the acting of Alana De La Garza and the main bloke (Ion Gruffurd? Can’t remember his name). Its worth checking out the pilot and seeing what you think

  9. Recent eps have been very ordinary-really should have ended last season-will probably be used as a random , vey late night filler on any of the 9 channels.
