Jeremy Clarkson will learn next week if the BBC will sack him from Top Gear.

A BBC statement said:

Following last week’s suspension of Jeremy Clarkson, Ken MacQuarrie is now considering the evidence and will report to the Director-General on his findings next week.

Once this has been considered, we will set out any further steps.

The BBC will not be offering further commentary until then.

The BBC has said a Top Gear Live event in Norway next week is “still scheduled to go ahead” with Jeremy Clarkson as its star, meaning at this stage there is no change to an Australian event next month.

A BBC Worldwide source said: “At the moment we are taking things on a day by day basis and as things stand the shows are scheduled to run as billed. It is not happening tomorrow, it is happening in eight days’ time, so we are waiting to see what the investigation delivers.”

If Clarkson is sacked by the BBC, his contract with BBC Worldwide would also be terminated.

The presenter attended a charity event this week in London, thanking supporters for their petitions.

  1. Rumors are Clarkson is set to walk, Sky is offering him much more to set up a similar show and if I was to bet Hammon and May would join him as all their contract were just weeks away from ending and none of them had resigned for the next series.
