C31’s Live on Bowen ends as licence loss looms

After 6 seasons, C31 live variety show ends with its last ever guest, Dave Hughes.

Channel 31’s Live variety Live on Bowen has its last ever episode tonight after six seasons on air.

With Community TV set to lose its licence at the end of 2015, the show hosted by comedian Simon Taylor will no longer be produced.

But it promises to go out with a bang with Dave Hughes as its final guest.

Dave Hughes is a long-standing figure in the Australian comedy and television scenes, with career highlights including being a co-host of Before the Game and The Project (both Channel 10), as well as his latest gig on the immensely popular The Footy Show (Nine Network). He also won an ARIA Award in 2007 for his comedy DVD release, Dave Hughes, Live.

Live on Bowen is one of Channel 31’s most popular programs, being viewed by over 70,000 people each week. With the end of community television drawing closer, Live on Bowen is eager to showcase just how great community broadcasting can be.

Channel 31 Melb on Monday June 29th, 8.30pm (the show can also be found on WTV Perth, 31 Digital Brisbane and Face Television NZ -check local guides).
