Phil Craig is leaving Discovery Networks International after just 8 months to return to the production sector.

Craig began in February as the company’s executive vice president and chief creative officer after 2.5 years heading up Factual with ABC.

He landed the job as the company’s executive vice president and chief creative officer in November last year and took up the position in February.

“Phil enjoyed creative success at DNI and shepherded several series and specials that will hit the air in 2016, including a ground-breaking natural history series Life of Dogs, and played a key role in bringing the critically acclaimed film Sherpa to Discovery.”

He also commissioned two Australian titles, Question Everything (working title) from Essential Media and Entertainment and Sydney Harbour Uncovered (working title) from WTFN.

He is currently finishing up a couple of projects for the company before returning to the production sector.
