If you use TV captioning, the media watchdog the Australian Communications and Media Authority wants to your input.

It is seeking comment on two options for potentially amending the Broadcasting Services (Television Captioning) Standard 201.

For this review, the ACMA is considering whether the Standard takes into account the differences between providing captioning services for Live and pre-recorded programs. The Standard cannot state that the quality requirements (readability, accuracy and comprehensibility) for captioning are lower for Live programs, than those for a pre-recorded program.

If you’re a viewer who uses captions, a community or advocacy group, a broadcaster, a captioning service provider or just have an interest in captioning, submissions are due by 5pm, Friday 18 December 2015.
