Tonight SBS 2 has a doco for all the other good gamers, Gameplay: The Story of The Video Game Revolution.
Almost 5 years in the making the film spans the time from the technologies origins, to the birth of the arcade games, from “Pong” to “Pac Man” and “Super Mario” to “Lara Croft”, “Doom”, “Grand Theft Auto” and beyond and everything in between as it chronicles the remarkable story of the fastest evolving new media of all time.
The film features never seen before interviews with such videogame pioneers as Nolan Bushnell, David Crane, Noah Falstein, John Romero, Todd Howard and many more plus all of the iconic and groundbreaking games of the past 40+ years all tied together with original animation and graphics.
8:30pm tonight on SBS 2.

Not sure whether you’ve been given the wrong time David, or its airing at different times in different states, but I’ve got this airing at 9.45 in Melbourne, with the 16th Inaugural Chaser Lecture delivered by Bassem Youssef at 8.30.
8:30 was supplied to me. I see online guides have 9:45 and an SBS tweet has 9:30. Good luck with that!
last week they played an Atari doco. there’s another doco they could play, Video Games The Movie. saw it on Netflix and thought it was quite good.
Odd, I didn’t think Video Games: The Movie was much good; they could also play Indie Game: The Movie
SBS2 couldn’t release something last week for Atari: Game Over, and this week it appears they wait until the last minute to release something about this docu
