Musical fans are in for a treat later this month when TEN screens the special The Sound of Music: 50 Years On.
Network Ten’s Entertainment Reporter Angela Bishop heads back to Salzburg with Debbie Turner, Nicholas Hammond, Heather Menzies and Duane Chase, who played the loveable Von Trapp children Marta, [Amended: Friedrich], Louisa and Kurt.
From there they revisit filming locations, uncover secrets and meet the real members of the Von Trapp family as they are welcomed back to Austria after fleeing their homeland as refugees decades ago.
This special presentation will be followed by a screening of the much-loved film.
6:30pm Saturday November 28 on TEN.

Any idea where you can watch it online?
I remember screening this film as a projectionist many years ago….fifty in fact. It still remains one of my favourite films. I have the VHS copy, the widescreen VHS, the DVD and the Blu Ray.
The eldest son is Friedrich.
I think Peter is the other boyfriend Leisl had secretly on the side if things didn’t work out with Rolf.
