New prod. co. Lingo headed by former Fremantle, Matchbox execs.

A new Sydney-based production company, Lingo Pictures, has been formed by producers Jason Stephens and Helen Bowden.

The venture will create scripted and unscripted content for the local and the international market.

Helen Bowden, ex Founder and Managing Director of Matchbox Pictures, will be Managing Director. Her credits include The Slap, Underground: The Julian Assange Story and Devil’s Playground.

Jason Stephens, ex Creative Director and Director of Development at FremantleMedia, will be Creative Director. His credits include Mr and Mrs Murder, Devil’s Dust, The King, Schapelle and Better Man.

A statement says, “Lingo will be creatively focussed, nimble and market savvy. We aim to build strong partnerships and new business models, while putting together an ambitious production slate. We look forward to making some exciting announcements in the near future.”
