Top Gear is getting a female co-host, according to UK reports.

German racing driver Sabine Schmitz (pictured) and motoring journalist Chris Harris are said to have been chosen to join host Chris Evans.

David Coulthard, the former Formula One star, has also been appointed to the new-look presenter panel.

But the new version is already facing staff changes before it has even debuted.

The show’s executive producer, Lisa Clark, is leaving the show after five months. Tom Ford, a script editor, will also reportedly not be returning at the end of his contract.

  1. I liked Sabine when she was on, much better looking than Richard. It will be interesting to see the new format and see if it works.

Meanwhile the BBC is recycling the old show with even more specials on BBC Knowledge and I assume around the world on other services.

  2. I think this would be one of the hardest expectations to meet in the history of television. Even if two of the ‘big three’ were to return, they’d be facing stiff criticism.
