US proceeding with Animal Kingdom series

2010 film by David Michod has been picked up for a US series by TNT.


US cable network TNT is moving ahead with its adaptation of Animal Kingdom, the 2010 film by David Michod which featured Jacki Weaver.

It has been approved for a 10-episode series under showrunner John Wells (Shameless, Southland).

The US version is a family crime-drama now set in a gritty surf community featuring Ellen Barkin and Scott Speedman. Wells will direct the pilot.

The project was developed via rights obtained from Porchlight Films.

  1. Sounds like it’s going to be Sons Of Anarchy on waves, I hope it is more than that as the film deserves it.

    Ah, films becoming TV Series and TV Series becoming films, one day the worlds will collide again, like stage plays becoming films and films becoming stage plays then those stage plays becoming films again (e.g., Hairspray).
