US actor Pat Harrington Jr best known for 1970s sitcom One Day at a Time has died, aged 86.
He lost a battle with Alzheimer’s disease on Wednesday according to multiple media outlets.
Harrington played nosy handyman Schneider on One Day at a Time, which ran from 1975 – 1984.
The son of Broadway veteran Pat Harrington Sr, his career dated back to the early days of television in the 1950s.
He had a recurring presence on Danny Thomas’s sitcom Make Room for Daddy and starred opposite Elvis Presley in Easy Come, Easy Go.
In more recent years, Harrington reunited with former co-star Valerie Bertinelli on Hot in Cleveland, and appeared on The King of Queens.
