Seven’s new clip show Best Bits, in which comedians look at amusing clips from the week, will premiere at 10pm Tuesday March 29.
Sam Mac (Sunrise, First Dates) will host a panel of four comedians.
As revealed by TV Tonight, the show will be filmed in New Zealand where a local version has proven successful.
“Best Bits is the show I was born to host,” says Mac. “Although I did say the exact same thing about Embarrassing Bodies.
“I’m a TV nerd so this show will be the perfect opportunity to have a laugh at just how ridiculous entertainment is in 2016. Except for Channel 7 shows which are always meaningful, expertly produced and world class.”
“Best Bits turns TV clips into a half hour of television hilarity,” says executive producer Matt McPhail. “It covers the entire gamut of our viewing habits at a cracking pace which means it is always funny and fast moving. Its pace means you never have to wait long for the next big laugh.”

10pm on Tuesday….Seven must not think much of the show.
Not every show commissioned is A grade. I think it’s good Seven is making some shows for later slots. Imagine if every network did the same.
Well Sam Mac is definitely not A Grade. Nine will be loving having him all over the Seven schedule as he is obviously not helping the ratings on Sunrise.
10pm on a Tuesday – where does this leave Bones?
Bones isn’t on next week, but I imagine it slots in at 10.30pm followed by Quantico at 11.30pm.
Why is Sam Mac now on three shows? Can’t they get some new talent, and and more than just an alleged comedian?
