The end of a long weekend is usually a big viewing night, and it was ideal timing for the penultimate episode of My Kitchen Rules.
As the show farewelled Anna and Jordan it drew an impressive 1.63m viewers. That’s lower than earlier instant restaurants, but it is also a rise on recent eps ahead of tonight’s grand final.
The rise of MKR was bad news for rivals including You’re Back in the Room and All Star Family Feud. ABC weathered the competition much better.
Sport was also an afternoon drawcard for networks, leading into the 6pm News. AFL drew 609,000 / 47,000 and NRL scored 377,000 / 12,000.
Seven network had a bumper win with 37.5% then Nine 22.8%, ABC 19.0%, TEN 15.0% and SBS 5.6%.

The Project (566,000 / 408,000) topped TEN. TEN Eyewitness News was 531,000, All Star Family Feud was 430,000 and CSI Cyber was 318,000 / 197,000.

Launch numbers for The Bolt Report would’ve been interesting.
Just one more night until Nine and Ten can breathe again as MKR wraps up!
To be honest, You’re Back In The Room is rating what it should now the novelty has worn off. God help us if an Australian audience could sustain more than a few eps.
David, can you advise whether 7 broadcasted the “cut down” version of The Chase in all markets, given those numbers? In SA it was affected by the AFL and they showed a 30 minute version.
Still can’t stand AOK though…
It wasn’t in all cities. 3 cities at 5pm, 4 cities at 5:30.
David, didn’t MKR get 1.633 million? Sorry, I’m just a little confused.
Sorry, missed 1 crucial digit.
Loved You’re Back In The Room Hilarious show hope it’s back in a New Series it’s great
Bye You’re Back In The Room.. Looks like MKR might’ve killed another show lol!
Good to see Darryl Somers getting the figures he really deserves !
