Announced last week by Nine, Chicago Med is launching sooner than we think.
Updated: It will premiere at 8:30pm Wednesday November 30th.
Created by Dick Wolf and Matt Olmstead it is based at the emergency department at Gaffney Chicago Medical Cente, and marks the second spin-off from Chicago Fire. It stars Nick Gehlfuss, Yaya DaCosta, Torrey DeVitto, Rachel DiPillo and Oliver Platt.
A three-way crossover between Chicago Fire, Chicago Med and Chicago P.D. took place around its 5th episode.
The series premiered in the US last November and is now in its second season.
The grand opening of Chicago Med’s emergency department is interrupted by victims of an elevated train crash, pushing the staff to their limits.

I found this show ticked every cliche medical show going. Boring and predictable.
Already pushed out to Nov 30 now.
Not surprised.
cant wait for this.
Are 7 or 9 going to pick up Chicago PD? It’s about time someone did.
Doubt it as it airs on the universal channel.
This show is nowhere near as good as Chicago PD and Fire. It’s rather dull IMO
Couldn’t get into pd. The head of the team played a bad guy in the early days of fire so I couldn’t wrap my head around him being a good guy all of a sudden. Plus there are quite a few cop shows so pd doesn’t offer anything unique like fire does cause there aren’t any shows that I’m aware of based in a fire station.
He isn’t a “good guy” all of a sudden – check out the episode at the end of last season and the first episode of this current season. His character has also evolved and been explained over the seasons of PD.
Yes, that perplexed me too, as he was a really bad guy in season one of Fire. I like the actor though.
For me PD is the best cop show airing right now due to the innovative action scenes and chase sequences each episode. Voight is a cop that’s willing to torture suspects and bend the rules in order to save lives and get convictions. It was interesting seeing his style clash with Benson’s in the SVU crossover episodes. I really like Sophia Bush and the other actors/actresses on the show too
I also like Fire but am getting tired of the revolving door of paramedics and people on Truck. Severide has a new love interest every six episodes
Shows need both a good core of existing characters and some new ones so they don’t go stale. Severide is a ladies man so the revolving door of love interests is to be expected. I would be sad if he wasn’t on the show anymore. He is very nice to look at.
Until its buried in a late slot or taken off for no reason. I really wanted to watch this how but I cant do it on 9.
Chicagos get a rough ride here. Fire is missing from the schedule tomorrow night and its already buried in a late night slot.
It will be interesting to see if 9 play it out or it just disappears. At least Chicago PD and Fire have been available on iTunes so far, but if 9 drops Med it probably won’t get released here.
you know it’s summer when the Chicago franchise makes its way back to prime time on FTA
Seems strange to premier a new series when non-ratings season is commencing, and cricket will just continually interrupt the scheduling. It’s like they are trying to fail, but can still say “we tried, but nobody wanted to stick around”.
Cricket won’t interrupt at all. The day/night Tests are held Thu-Mon and the shorter forms (50 over and 20 over) are predominantly held Tues, Fri and Sun – the exceptions being Thu 19 Jan and 26 Jan.
So Wednesday is the one night it could be scheduled without interference. With that said, I don’t see the entire series staying as single episodes Wed 8.30 …..
