New US sitcom Kevin Can Wait, starring Kevin James (The King of Queens) begins on Nine next week.
Nine will pair the series with a new Big Bang episode, ahead of summer programming.
Kevin Can Wait follows newly-retired police officer Kevin, who discovers he faces tougher challenges at home than he ever did on the streets. It stars Kevin James, Erinn Hayes, Taylor Spreitler, Ryan Cartwright, Mary-Charles Jones, James DiGiacomo, Leonard Earl Howze, Gary Valentine and Lenny Venito.
Former Anger Management showrunner Bruce Helford was recently announced as being replaced by former Cheers scribe Rob Long.
The nature of the “creative differences” involved is not immediately clear, though its said they had different visions of how the show should play out over its just-ordered extra nine episodes.
The show has been ordered for a full season.
8pm Tuesday November 22 on Nine.

I can guarantee any of these new shoes will only air for a few weeks, before being bumped for Christmas movies and crime documentaries
Suspect Kevin Can Wait and Chicago Med are summer titles.
I like ‘Kevin Can Wait’ but it’s nothing special IMHO.
I thought Nine had no interest in any new US shows anymore, thought they were all about the Aussie content. this and that Chicago show, next year Lethal Weapon is another. what gives? make up your mind Nine!
Yeah I remember all the big broohaha and press releases about Nine never airing any US shows on their schedule anymore and them not renewing their WB deal, guess things have changed
From memory Nine never said no more US shows ever. They said no more output deal. Still possible to screen individual titles.
I’ve seen a couple. It’s King of Queens without Carrie and Arthur. It’s growing on me.
Kevin James can only play one character Doug Heffernan. And I would go as far as saying it’s King of Queens without Arthur and a likeable version of Carrie.
