Which Aussies will get an Emmy nomination?
Nicole, Ben, Geoffrey? The Emmy nominations are upon us.

By this time tomorrow we will have the Emmy nominations for 2017.
This year Game of Thrones is out of contention, due to missing the cut-off date of May 31.
That leaves the path open for a fight between The Crown, Stranger Things, Big Little Lies, The Handmaid’s Tale, This is Us, House of Cards, The Americans, or maybe even Westworld, The Leftovers, Feud, Fargo, Ray Donovan and Better Call Saul.
I’d tip The Crown to lead the tally by the time nominations are done.
For Comedy look to Veep, Modern Family, Silicon Valley, Atlanta, Transparent, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Black-ish, The Big Bang Theory, or maybe Grace and Frankie, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Divorce, Santa Clarita Diet.
I’d tip Nicole Kidman to get a nomination for Big Little Lies. Nic has never won an Emmy but I reckon she is our best bet for a nomination (a win against Claire Foy, Elisabeth Moss and Robin Wright would be much harder). But given the show’s Aussie origins, any nods here are worth claiming. And with The Leftovers final season down under, there’s another we could celebrate.
Ben Mendelsohn is a previous Supporting winner for Bloodline so he would have to be another contender.
Will Geoffrey Rush get a nod for playing Albert Einstein in National Geographic’s Genius?
Judy Davis is an outside chance for a supporting nod in Feud -the Academy loves her (and what if only 1 of Susan Sarandon / Jessica Lange gets a nod?).
Other Aussies are likely to be amongst the craft awards.
The nominations will be announced by Anna Chlumsky & Shemar Moore at 1:30am AEST tomorrow.

Do Netflix series count?
If so then I would pick Katherine Langford.
Yes, before May 31.
Judy Davis is not an outside chance. She’s a lock for a nom, and many experts also predict a win
Remarkably identical article in Fairfax lands today, identifying the same shortlist …even with the same error I made.
I am hoping for another Emmy for Tatiana Maslany in Orphan Black. Brilliant actor, brilliant series.
Nicole Kidman won’t be up against Claire Foy, Elisabeth Moss or Robin Wright? She’s in a different category…
Big Little Lies is in the limited series category. Nic’s actually the favourite at this point which is exciting. Though it’ll be the biggest A List category of the night, with 4 Oscar best actress winners going against each other with Reese very likely, as well as Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange
Yes true.
