“Our approach is using the exact same framework and methodology that we do for all of television,” Brian Fuhrer, senior vice president of product leadership at Nielsen, recently told the
Hollywood Reporter. “You can put these Netflix and broadcast numbers right next to one another and understand the relationship.”

“Chapter One” – 15.8 million viewers
“Chapter Two” — 13.7 million viewers
“Chapter Three” — 11.6 million viewers
“Chapter Four” — 9.3 million viewers
“Chapter Five” — 8 million viewers
“Chapter Six” — 6.4 million viewers
“Chapter Seven” — 5.3 million viewers
“Chapter Eight” — 4.9 million viewers
“Chapter Nine” — 4.6 million viewers

Nielsen also says that 361,000 subscribers streamed the entire nine-episode season within 24 hours of its release. That’s a lot of scary kids….

  1. We binged it all on the Sunday and Monday nights. Netflix is definitely earning the subscription this month. Now I’d better hack into House Of Cards while I still can before it gets removed…

  2. As these results appear to be for American audiences the lower numbers after the first 3 episodes suggests that binge watching was not a priority for those keen on the show, it will be interesting to see how the numbers average out in the coming months Worldwide.
