Still baffles me how Nicole Kidman has won so many awards for Big Little Lies. Witherspoon’s performance was superior.
Pleased to see This Is Us win. Sterling B. Brown is brilliant but Susan Kelechi Watson needs to start getting the recognition she deserves. She is fabulous as Beth.
I don’t know what I’m missing with This Is Us, I don’t really understand why it’s considered such a prestige show. I enjoy it and the gimmick of it being two different timelines was interesting and unexpected but I don’t see how the show is that elevated in quality compared to any other family drama series like Brothers and Sisters or even The Fosters. I certainly don’t think it deserved to win the ensemble cast award above any of the other 4 shows in that category, particularly The Handmaid’s Tale which was flawless.
SAG focusses on performances as opposed to other awards such as Globes which takes all into consideration. Things are more equal in This Is Us working together than others such as Handmaid’s Tale.
I absolutely adore Shameless but it still baffles me (after 8 seasons no less), that Macy continues to get nominated and as I understand, win for the third time at the SAG awards for his role as Frank… I think he’s one of the weaker characters in the show… and still Emmy Rossum continues to be ignored for Fiona. ??♂️
Yep Frank should have been written out a long time ago, he’s not even fun to hate anymore.
It was the same with the original – Frank was by far the weakest character and the less an episode featured him the better they were. Agree Emmy Rossum is superb as Fiona.
Great to see Veep is still collecting the awards after all these years – very well deserved.
