Doctor Who composer Murray Gold is leaving the series after 13 years.
At the Gallifrey One convention in LA he confirmed he will not be back for series 11. There have been rumours of his exit since November.
The reasons for his departure are not clear, although there is speculation new showrunner Chris Chibnall wants to bring in a lot of his own team behind the scenes.
Murray Gold’s last episode will stand as the Christmas special, Twice Upon A Time.
It’s unknown who will be taking over composer duties for series 11.

Yeah it’s not the best, but it’s been a hallmark of Gold’s composition that each Doctor get their own version of the gGrainer theme as well as their own leitmotif. I hope it continues.
Please for the love of Gallifrey let this mean the current piercing theme tune incarnation is out at last!
