4 Comments:

  1. Ten can point to their administration troubles, the long lead time for new programs and related issues but there will come a time when the excuses need to stop.
It all boils down to a need to find money and spend it. They need at least one good 40 week a year weekly drama for a 7:30pm timeslot. They must get rid of The 7.30 Project or whatever it is called now. The 6:00pm to 7:00pm timeslot needs some hard current affairs programming – not the week George Negus program of a few years ago but some serious, in depth political analysis and international affairs show. They must absolutely dominate Saturday nights – original drama and a variety style show essential. If they can capture Saturdays they can dominate the week.
Abandon any thought of keeping the Big Bash and instead pump the money into a series of sitcoms to work year round. The American model of high episode counts…

    • Nothing you’ve said is remotely possible or practical-CBS is not in the business of shovelling infinite amounts of money into a black hole for no reasonable result.

  2. Married at First Sight now doubling MKR in the demos. The numbers for tonight and tomorrow are likely to be even bigger with the much vaunted “dinner party”. I can’t remember a time when 7 was consistently so far behind 9 at 7.30pm.

  3. What happens when a network’s multi-channels don’t perform? Last night case in point: close between Seven and Nine overall (even though the latter had a big win in main channel).

    The digital age.
