@ilovtv
You are correct – viewers punished Ten severely be4 I left to retire in Dec 2012.
( and 7 are no longer the greats that can get away with anything. I have people in our family that watch that MAFS pgm on Nine. To them it is just a laugh. I won’t even turn 9 on at the moment but we are all different. Mindless scripted semi drama reality shows turn some viewers on.
I like IACGMOOHere because it is from Kruger National Park and genuinely funny at times. If they took out the daredevil challenges and horribly food they have to eat I would enjoy the show even more. E.g. – want more than staples, go hunt an animal yourself, kill it without torture and cook it for a feast. I enjoy that show but not all aspects. It could be turned into a winner. This year they have had some great people in the show and I love the silly banter between Julia M. and the Doctor – Chris B. We are all…
Ahh! Man-the most dangerous prey-tastes like pork, apparently-you seem to want Bear Grills rather than kiddie friendly stuff at 7.30pm.
Woah MAFS beats MKR in Perth! That makes it official, MKR is in big trouble.
Another huge win to Nine. But as one regular contributor to TV tonight often says “but wait til the AFL starts”. But will it be enough to save Seven. If like on Nine so far this year, there is a bigger leakage of viewers of NRL to Foxtel and the same happens to AFL then Seven might have smaller numbers for the footy. Certainly Foxtel’s NRL and AFL coverage is far superior to the free to air networks.
If you’re referring to me (which I’m not sure if you are, given a recent comment was directed solely at Saturday nights), I wasn’t going to mention this but feel I should, after all we can speak our mind publically without being insulting/rude can’t we? Unless David thinks it is unwarranted (but knowing how he feels about network/code wars/bias I’d beg to differ):
So Sunny are you going to keep posting comments, which are purely Nine fanboy-ish every day? Because it hasn’t gone unnoticed and I’ve been keeping a mental note you haven’t once posted this year saying “Great win to Ten'” or “big win to Seven” and when Nine doesn’t win/rate, you tend not to post at all.
Hmm… And don’t tell me I’m wrong. Because we all take the time to read everyone’s posts carefully across all pages, well, at least I do.
And before you say “well, you seem Seven or Ten fanboy-ish’…
Fanboyish? Is that a word? On a more serious note I think the leakage to fox will be more serious for 9 as it’s coverage of sport particularly the footy is very tired. Seven’s coverage of AFL is better so I hear so the leakage may be lower. But hard to tell yet I would have thought mind you!
It would be certainly worrying for nine, but even more worrying for the NRL, even though they have a new improved contract, the next one they may not get nearly as good a deal if viewers continue to drop like a stone
Fox ratings went up considerably. FTA dropped. Net effect nil
Not really – they get a lot more from FTA than paytv and it reaches a larger audience. We’ll see soon enough if the AFL has the same problem
But you have to give large wads of cash to the Murdochs for the privilege-counts out many people these days.
MKR already seems like its been on for months. Still heaps of “cooks” left. It might run until September.
MKR dragging on far too long- boring !!!
Well ” slightly damaged ” is putting it mildly…a bit like saying the Titanic was ” slightly scratched ” by an errant iceberg …
Seven’s big money Australian Spartan gamble has not paid off and – worse still – severely damaged its flagship show …
While MKR has returned to Sunday, it looks like the previous two weeks of Spartin has slightly damaged MKR’s Sunday numbers.
