  1. Chuck128 does raise a valid question and i admit it would be a lot more interesting seeing the top 20 multichannel programmes without ABCkids/comedy.

    • Watch them more so they lift is probably the answer. I appreciate it is dominated by many non-primetime shows. Talking Married does well on Wednesdays, the list speaks to how much off the game the commercials are.

      • The circumstances of the ABCKids viewership are unique-these are very young children with no real say in what they watch (although once they are habituated to it, they will demand it)–parents make the choice but won’t generally watch it themselves as the whole point is to free up time for them for other things including watching other TV themselves!

  2. Is there really any point in listing all the ABC kids programs in the ratings list? They’re essentially a child minding service for small children-I would doubt many adults are paying much attention to them and most are brief by normal TV standards-it might be more informative to see what the overall population are actually viewing.

        • Yes and kids watch commercials when they exist and tell mummy or daddy or minders what they want them to buy. So kids count in an indirect but important way. Why have toy sections in stores otherwise?

Ratings should reflect in the most accurate way what is being watched – imho 🙂

          • No ads on ABCKids-that’s one of the reasons parents are keen to plonk the littlies down in front of the TV for the 14 odd hours a day of it-again, under 6ers don’t have much in the way of suitable options otherwise.

    • They’re very educational. My granddaughter learned how to start a fire with two sticks from Peppa Pig. It might save her life if she gets lost in the woods.
