Australia tipped for top 5 at Eurovision

Australia is set for another Top 5 finish at the Eurovision Song Contest according to the bookies.

Jessica Mauboy is polling 3rd, 4th or 5th according to current odds.

Israel is the clear favourite with Netta’s Toy.

The others in contention are Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France and Estonia. Given none of those acts appear in the Second Semi Final alongside Jessica Mauboy’s We Got Love it’s looking good to qualify for the Final.

Meanwhile even UK entrant Surie is tipping the Aussie competition.

“I have tried to listen to them all and I think the biggest threat is from Australia,” she admitted, adding: “It’s a great tune!”

Rehearsals get underway in Lisbon this week with the first Semi Final on Wednesday May 9.

Tomorrow night SBS will confirm the Australian jury and spokesperson (presumably during The Feed).
