OMG – I am in the in the 25-54 demographic but watched a bit of the Closing Ceremony (what was that?) , The International Judges Show ( aka The Voice) and ended up watching Bachelor in Paradise before watching a repeat of Midsomer Murders and Law and Order SVU. I found last nights offerings to be pathetic. Australian television is getting worse and worse.

Talking about The Voice, I’m subscribed to Alicia Keys mailing list and the latest email I received was reminding me to vote #TeamAlicia. I wish the voting was actually based on merit and not which mentor has the biggest following.

  2. ch 7 have to be the kings of the event breakup in the ratings list, closing ceremony, countdown show …….
The same must be said for AFL. pre match, game , post match……….
Can’t wait for the T2 cricket ..Toss, pitch report, pre match, 1st innings, tea break, 2nd innings, post match, post match behind the bar……..

    • bettestreep2008

All the networks are doing this now. Even a 5 minute ‘Winner announced’ segment is considered a separate show for ratings purposes. As for the cricket going to Seven and Foxtel – I couldn’t care less cos I despise the sport. However I am dreading what Nine will do with the tennis broadcast next year. Seven was bad but Nine have proven time and again to be just as bad or even worse at televising sports. I can just see Hamish and Andy, Karl Stefanovic, Sam Newman and Eddie Macguire hosting the Australian Open and that makes me shudder.
