Survey says, that’s a wrap.

"Hardest thing I’ve ever done," says Grant Denyer as Family Feud ends. "It saved my career."

Production on Family Feud came to a close in Sydney this week, after a three year run on TEN.

Host Grant Denyer, nominated for a Gold Logie, took to social media to thank crew and the 5000 families who have appeared on the show.

“Hardest thing I’ve ever done. Saying goodbye to this. Final records are done. It saved my career. I’ve worked with the nicest people in my life. A massive crew who have worked harder than i ever to make u laugh every night. They put the show before their families, friends & lives.

“I can’t repay the effort everyone has put in. I want u to know I love all so much. I’ve had the best time. Pure magic. U rarely get this chance to have so much fun & make an impact. To the 5000 families that played with us… thank u. I raise a glass ?

“Tonight I am so happy & thankful for the Feud. Absolute dream come true. Families love it, kids love it, grandmas love it… the fact it’s welcomed into the homes of so many, makes me teary. It’s been a hard 24 hours. Thanks for the fun ride Family Feud. Forever in my ❤️”

The FremantleMedia game show relocated from Melbourne to Sydney late last year to save on studio costs, but has struggled in the competitive 6pm timeslot. Denyer recently noted there had been too many episodes, 6 nights a week plus specials.

He will return to TEN later this year for Game of Games.

  1. Anybody that watches that US version would know that Ten’s version is very much the poor cousin. It’s too bad we don’t just get Steve Harvey on our screens.

  2. I watched it every now and then. Gonna miss it a little. Denyer was a star at hosting this show. Maybe it would have done better at 5pm against Hotseat and Chase.

  3. I’m sad it’s over! My daughter and I watch it every night to get through witching hour ?. She’s only a toddler so has no idea about the answers but likes clapping and cheering along with them! I’m really happy to hear Grant is doing Game of Games, he seems like a good guy and I think he’ll suit another lighthearted game show.

  4. Was never really a fan of GD. However, I really enjoyed his hosting role on Family Feud. He was entertaining and genuinely seemed to be enjoying the gig. Loved the way he interacted with the contestants. Unfortunately they may have run too many variations that diluted the appeal.

  5. Such a shame that Family Feud is finishing. ): Grant Denyer was a great presenter full of life cracking jokes. I agree new episodes 6 days a week, the replay from night before and All Star editions were a bit much. Perhaps the shows with celebrities playing should have aired on Sundays in place of the weekend program.

  6. It will be sad to see Family Fued leave our television screens again. It was great light-hearted viewing. I have taken a liking towards the UK game show Pointless on ABC so I’m happy to hear that there will be an Australian version of Pointless as a replacement to Family Fued.
