War on Waste down but wins 8:30 slot
Ratings: Craig Reucassel series & Masterchef win slots. Seven scores on Tuesday.

The return of War on Waste may have been down on its 2017 debut but it was still enough to ‘win’ the 8:30 slot (save for overruns).
The Craig Reucassel-hosted show drew 669,000 viewers, down on 2017’s debut of 759,000 in the same slot.
Perhaps it’s fair to argue it had little head to head competition but it was nevertheless ahead of Shark Tank‘s 446,000 (from 8:45pm), Interview‘s 407,000 (from 9pm) and an Insight repeat. Nine’s movie didn’t kick in until around 9:15.
Earlier MasterChef Australia topped its slot and the demos with 876,000, up on last week, ahead of House Rules’ 824,000 and Ninja‘s 778,000, which was down.
Seven News, ACA and The Chase again won early slots.
In a close finish Seven network won Tuesday with 28.9% then Nine 28.1%, TEN 18.5%, ABC 16.0% and SBS 8.5%.
Seven News (1.03m / 1.01m) was #1 for Seven then House Rules (824,000), Home and Away (718,000), The Chase (630,000 / 387,000) and Interview (407,000). Swipe Right for Murder was just 168,000.
Nine News (1.01m / 976,000) led for Nine then Australian Ninja Warrior (778,000), A Current Affair (771,000), Hot Seat (527,000 / 303,000) and Movie: Inferno (283,000).
MasterChef Australia (876,000) won for TEN then The Project (534,000 / 303,000), Shark Tank (446,000) and TEN Eyewitness News (426,000). NCIS: LA was 160,000.
ABC News (749,000), War on Waste (669,000), 7:30 (477,000), Foreign Correspondent (431,000), Joanna Lumley’s Japan (271,000) and Think Tank (218,000) comprised ABC’s night.
On SBS it was Who Do You Think You Are? (258,000), Tour de France (192,000), Insight (171,000) and SBS World News (145,000).
Outback Truckers on 7mate topped multichannels with 194,000.
The Morning Show: 134,000 / 71,000
Today Extra: 105,000 / 50,000
Studio 10: 58,000 / 52,000 / 48,000

Think Tank is doing quite well to hold its ratings over a month into repeats and against new competition.
I dunno. To me it just shows the number of people who don’t care for commercial station news and ABC is their default setting.
I find that by 6pm I have watched/heard enough news for the day. So I am looking for something else, and Think Tank is the best option. If the other stations had something decent to offer at 6, I would consider that too.
No mention of Pointless ? Has it dropped below the radar already ?
David doesn’t usually report on simulcasts as its not a fair comparison, but my understanding it missed top 20 by a few thousand. If Tens going to play it all over the schedule people won’t commit to the 6pm showing.
Ninja really needs to trim the back stories. 2 contestants by 15 mins is such a drag, especially in semi finals, they also need to change their catchphrases, “can you believe it?” “Nobody was expecting that” “first woman” “those arms are tired” “that is a shock”.
It did 378,000 on the main Channel 10. Ranked 21st overall.
Where’s the reference to these figures?
That’s the number across 3 channels as they still roadblocked it. Killing the share for eleven and one…. for how long?
Maybe ff will be back in 2018…… not bad odds on that happening.
