The Living Room: Sept 7

Jamie Durie revives a garden damaged during renovations, and Amanda Keller meets Koala Keepers.

On The Living Room this week Jamie Durie revives a garden damaged during renovations, and Amanda Keller explores the jobs of Koala Keepers (psst, not a bear!).

Gardens with Jamie Durie: Therapy Garden
Jamie Durie helps Ellen and Flavio transform their garden into a Mediterranean Oasis that’s perfect for their son, Remo. When Remo was diagnosed with neurofibromatosis, Ellen and Flavio decided to move to a new place with a big, flat backyard he could play in. The instillation of a spa pool and trampoline to help Remo’s motor skills turned their backyard into a dustbowl. Luckily, Jamie has some simple and smart tips to create a space the whole family can enjoy.

Odd Jobs with Amanda Keller: Koala Keeper
Amanda heads to the iconic Australian Reptile Park on the Central Coast to try her hand at being a koala keeper. Although the iconic critter spends most of the day sleeping, Amanda learns taking care of them is not as easy as it seems – it’s hard out there for a koala bear!

Food with Miguel Mastre: Street Smart Donuts
Miguel meets comedian Tahir Bilgic to talk about his new show Street Smart, a hilarious show about Australia’s thickest crooks and the parking officer hell-bent on taking them down. Inspired by Tahir’s Turkish background, they make Turkish delight stuffed donuts before taking heading to the streets of Parramatta to see how Street Smart people really are.

Travel with Chris Brown 24 Hours of Wet and Wild
With a new set of wheels and a well-insulated jacket, Chris is on a winter road trip along Victoria’s southern coast to see just how wet and wild things can get in 24 hours. From the famous surf museums and gnarly waves at Bells Beach to platypus watching at Lake Elizabeth, Chris crams a whole lot of excitement into one day.

7:30pm Friday on TEN.
