Gogglebox tops Thursday entertainment

Ratings: Gogglebox and Bachelorette score for TEN. Seven wins Thursday.

It’s never too late for a night on the couch. Gogglebox at 8:40pm was the highest rating entertainment show last night, surpassing all the 7:30 shows before it.

The TEN show drew 745,000 viewers ahead of Chicago med, Without Limits and a movie on Seven.

The Bachelorette also won its slot on 589000 viewers defeating Paramedics, Home and Away (from 7pm), 7:30, RBT, Driving Test, Invictus Games Today and Tony Robinson’s Hidden Britain by Drone. 

Both of TEN’s shows ranked #1 and #2 in the demos.

Seven News, ACA and The Chase won their slots.

Seven network won Thursday with 30.3% then Nine 25.8%, TEN 21.1%, ABC 15.3% and SBS 7.5%.

Seven News was #1 with 860,000 / 800,000 then Home and Away (554,000), The Chase (492,000 / 283,000), Modern Family (254,000). Movie: Pitch Perfect was 185,000.

Nine News was best for Nine with 790,000 / 783,000 followed by A Current Affair (690,000), Paramedics (588,000), RBT (501,000), Driving Test (432,000), and Hot Seat (420,000 / 250,000). Chicago Med was 257,000.

Gogglebox led for TEN at 745,000 then The Bachelorette (589,000), The Project (402,000 / 240,000), TEN Eyewitness News (359,000) and Blind Date (236,000). Pointless drew 219,000.

ABC News (634,000), 7:30 (505,000), Invictus Games Today (342,000), Without Limits (242,000) and Sammy J (234,000) comprised ABC’s night. Wentworth drew 105,000.

On SBS it was Tony Robinson’s Hidden Britain by Drone (248,000), 24 Hours in Police Custody (159,000), War and Peace (122,000), and SBS World News (122,000).

7mate’s Die Hard movie topped multichannels at 220,000.

  1. It’s astonishing how a commercial main channel can completely bomb after 8:30pm, yet because of the strength of their secondary channels, end up winning by about 5%!

    Gogglebox was hilarious with Anastasia and Faye, I’m actually looking forward to that more that the lead-in offering now.

  2. Seems 7’s Upfronts caused a bit too much of a distraction for you with today’s rating’s warp.

    Unless there was a late change, I thought it was Driving Test, RBT then Paramedics on Nine last night, suggesting an audience build as the evening wore on. May need to double check some of those comparisons! Chicago Med figures at 9:30pm also missing.

    Guessing Modern Family at 8:30pm (also missing from your Gogglebox comparisons) will be bumped to 7Flix with figures like those?
