It’s taken some months but ABC has now deleted all imagery of former managing director Michelle Guthrie and former chairman Justin Milne from its website ABC Future.

The site outlines key advocacy for the public broadcaster and topics such as independence, budget cuts and competition.

Before

Until this week it still hosted pictures of its former boss and chairman whose infamous feud was voted the Story of the Year by TV Tonight readers.

Now they are replaced with generic corporate imagery or a logo.

  1. Many years ago when I first worked for the ABC in Adelaide, a taxi driver asked me what it was like to work in the (then) new Collinswood building. I said “see the single storey building at the back, that’s television; the three storey building in the middle is radio; and the eight storey building in pride of place at the front is all admin”. It was then I realised that if the ABC was to stop broadcasting tomorrow, it would probably take three years for the admin to realise it and eventually wind down. Obviously nothing much has changed in the last 45 years!

    1. Such a good analogy of what it’s like working there. Too many admin and managers that wouldn’t have a clue how to make a show or what’s going on in the studios.
The reverse could also be said though. If all the admin and managers were to go, it would take 3 years for production to realise 😉
