Married at First Sight is a Beast, they are now winning in Perth, that’s strange and very hard to win over there. And My Kitchen Rules is getting worse, even dropping down in the demos, not a good sign at all. Seems My Kitchen Doesn’t Rule Anymore..!! Hot Seat is catching up to The Chase.! How things have changed lately..
Rare… they won a few single nights in MAFS last year too.
A few thoughts;
1) The major news service still dominate the top five or six programs but keep dipping year on year. Prime time figures last year were c. 1.0m now averaging about 0.9m.
2) Ten need to make a commitment to quality programming – both their output and the figures received are laughable. Programming heads need to roll. Contracts for new staff must mandate they make programs that can get minimum 1.0m, no excuses and immediate dismissal if any prime time content falls below that level.
3) Married at First Sight seems to be a near-unique program, embraced across generations, even if it must be a little embarrassing to have that as your flagship.
Point 2) would see every network programmer fired not just 10.
Point 2 gave me a really good laugh.
It’s not a little embarrassing, it IS very embarrassing!! Not a creative feel good program at all. Does not deserve it’s crown as Australia’s current most popular program at all. Just shows the sad, sad state of ‘quality’ Australian programming at the moment.
…and a reflection of the state of relationships in general. The ship has really sailed.
10 should have just kept Changing Rooms where it was and tried to build some sort of audience, this is just sad!
Bondi Rescue 321k / 268k.
Ah well at least that is up on the 204,000 that Changing Rooms got, be interesting to see what both get in timeshifted in a week or so.
