Tens woes stem from its 6pm – 7.30pm ratings. 7 and Nine have big rating news and current affairs shows to promote the whole evening. Its a real shame as Ten have some decent shows.
If the shows are decent, people will follow. TEN has a few “stars” who are spread around different shows and lots of cross promotion. Now if some of those “stars” are on the nose to lots of people then there is a huge problem. There have been lots of comments about these over-exposed “stars”. There’s the main problem as I see it.
But where were those ‘overexposed’ stars last night? I’m sure they didn’t call an Ambulance for Grant Denyer.
That’s in an upcoming episode.
Now there’s an opportunity.
It’s that half-hour gap that really loses it. Nine and ABC both follow their news immediately with their current affairs program, and so does Seven in some places. But 10 has this strange half-hour gap where they decided a quiz show would fit in between 10 News First and their current affairs program, The Project? Who thought that was a good idea?
Maybe they should try news at 5pm, The Project at 6pm, then lead in to the entertainment with Pointless at 7pm.
I think 10 should try Pointless at 5.30pm, then 30 minute news at 6pm as a point of difference to 7 and 9, and then The Project at 6.30pm.
