Reality producer alleges assault, cameraman charged.

Reality TV producer claims he was kidnapped, assaulted and forced to hand over money.

A TV producer associated with a proposed reality series on Roberta Williams alleges he was attacked in Collingwood last week.

The Age reports producer Ryan (no surname supplied), 36, claims a gang held him kidnap, assaulted him and demanded money last week. He alleges he was ordered to transfer $17,000 to a bank account and subjected to demand further payments.

The Herald Sun reports Victoria Police charged a 36-year-old cameraman with false imprisonment, threats to kill and assault charges after an incident on July 9.

The head of the fraud and extortion squad, Detective Inspector Greg Bowd, confirmed “One man has been charged and inquiries are ongoing.”

The man was remanded in custody over the weekend and appeared in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, where he was bailed to again appear in October.

Roberta Williams rejects any claim she was involved when the producer was allegedly held hostage.

A proposed reality project around Williams and daughter Dhakota has attracted publicity in recent years but yet to emerge.
