US crime drama Queen of the South has been renewed for a fifth season.
The series is based on the book La Reina Del Sur by Arturo Pérez-Reverte and stars Alice Braga has Teresa Mendoza, a woman who is forced to run from a Mexican drug cartel and seek refuge in the United States.
It screens in Australia on FOX Showcase.

A decent show Ive watched from the beginning. Glad it gets another season.
Alice Braga as the lead is superb
Hardly ever attracted any comments on this show…
The Mexican version La Reina del Sur is on Netflix as well, it has over 100 episodes and made in UHD, production quality is fairly good too. It’s makes an interesting comparison to the U.S. version.
Mexico have a large output of shows, if you love their soapy style you could become addicted.
