A pole dancing mother of 3 has won the Australia’s Got Talent grand final.
Melbourne’s Kristy Sellars won the $100,000 prize in a winning a Live public vote after she was one of 4 acts pre-determined by judges Shane Jacobson, Lucy Durack, Nicole Scherzinger and Manu Feildel.
She won with a pole routine to the song ‘Unsteady’ by X Ambassadors, defeating singers Jennifer Anderson, Olina Loau and dancer Sienna Osborne.
Lucy Durack said, “That was the ultimate Grand Final performance. What impressed me the most was you told this most beautiful and important story and you made us feel.”
Nicole Scherzinger said, “You make me so proud to be a woman, that was profound. You bring power and depth and meaning to pole dancing.”
Shane Jacobson added, “Never stop what you’re doing. You do it with such power and yet you’re happy to show us your emotions.”
The winner was determined through a Live vote to Eastern States viewers with one of 4 pre-recorded endings to announce the result. One grand finalist, knife thrower Captain Ruin, also was unavailable for the final.
But some viewers took to social media to complain about issues with voting through the 7plus app.

@GotTalentAU @Channel7 @TheRickiLee @NicoleScherzy @ShaneJacobson #GotTalentAU – Your voting system was floored. People couldn't vote on that app as the servers crashed. So the real winner was not crowned by the public. Never watch #AGT again. #Rigged #FalseWinner #Angry #Annoyed

#GotTalentAU With the voting technical issues @Channel7 has some explaining to do!!

Obviously @Channel7 has decided on their favourite to win. SMS messages not being delivered and app crashes.
They could have saved us time and frustration by just telling us who they chose.

Updated: A Seven spokesperson told TV Tonight,“After a few minutes of voting being opened, one of the 7plus services had an issue with autoscaling, leading to some users not being able to access the 7plus vote page on the 7plus mobile apps. This only affected some users and was quickly resolved within the voting period.”

I’m totally confused. Lol. They choose 4 acts to through the final last Sunday night, right? The next day I found out the winner has already announced. Um, what? Did I skip one week somehow?
No, I filed on this previously. It was a live vote, instant tally. They then screened one of 4 pre-recorded endings based on the vote. The end.
Does anyone really care?? Lol
I think Ricki-Lee has been an incredible host. Highly like-able and shows so much heart. She would be an excellent choice for a Voice coach next year CC Channel 9
To say the ‘winner announced’ section was strange is an understatement.
After the entire series, it was like “Ok you won it. Hurry up and cry so we can wrap up.”
No words from the judges as we let it sink in; just cut to Sunday Night.
Very flat.
I feel this is part of Channel 7’s problem with shows not “resonating”. They are just churning out content without the heart that used to be there. Just throw enough mud and it might stick. Full Monty’s, Dirty Dancings, it’s just filler and not engaging.
Voting issues aside, I thought the production of the final was outstanding. Such a variety of awesome talent.
It’s rare news.com.au doesn’t cover a reality grand finale after it’s aired , several hours after , or even now , nothing . Australia really doesn’t care lol
“Australia Really Doesn’t Care.”
That can be a new reality show coming to Seven in 2020 (after the Olympics of course).
