The opportunity
The Griffith Film School seeks an academic at either Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level to be part of a dedicated team of academic staff within the School and the Arts, Education and Law Group, ensuring quality and consistency of service delivery and positive teaching and student experiences.

The role requires expertise in TV studio production, including outside broadcast, and the application of online delivery for film and TV. Building on hands-on industry experience, the appointee will be well-versed in the technological and industrial factors driving the rapidly changing landscape of the small screen. Broad experience in studio production, live-streaming, developing web-based series (both narrative and factual), YouTube, social media and Subscription Video On Demand platforms including Netflix and other global media providers, is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will oversee the teaching of TV studio production for three recently refreshed courses, which are designed to prepare students for their future careers in TV and online content production and to leverage their creative potential. Ongoing linkages and engagement with industry will be critical to the role and may also extend to working with LiveLab, a commercial production arm of Griffith Film School.

This is a continuing, full time position based at the South Bank campus.

About you
The successful applicant will possess a relevant doctoral qualification, or substantial progress towards such a qualification, and/or appropriate industry experience. The person will demonstrate their knowledge of current teaching and learning principles and practices, and ability to teach a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses through evidence of teaching and course evaluations. Evidence of an established research profile is also required. Additionally, the Senior Lecturer would demonstrate a sustained record of success in research, including national or international collaborations and/or funding grants with demonstrated links to relevant external organisations and the profession.

Salary range
Senior Lecturer, Level C: $115,593 – $133,289 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $135,244 – 155,949 per annum.
Lecturer, Level B: $94,361 – $112,057 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $110,403 – $131,108 per annum.
