Power confirms three more spin-offs

Power showrunner Courtney A. Kemp and executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson have confirmed three spin-off editions: Power Book III: Raising Kanan, Power Book IV: Influence and Power Book V: Force.

They join the previously-announced Power Book II: Ghost due on Stan this year. It stars Mary J. Blige, Method Man and several members of the original cast.

“In television history, only a select few shows have inspired four consecutive series extensions, launched into active production and development at the same time,” said Jeffrey Hirsch, President and CEO of Starz. “These new and exciting chapters will continue the journey of some of Power‘s most controversial characters while featuring a growing ensemble of complex, distinct characters along with the high-octane drama that set Power in a class of its own.”

Here are the synopses of the new spin-offs:

Power Book III: Raising Kanan, the prequel story that takes viewers back to the ‘90s and the early years of iconic Power character Kanan Stark (played by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson).

Power Book IV: Influence, which follows Rashad Tate (played by Larenz Tate) in his ruthless pursuit of political power.

Power Book V: Force, in which fans will ride along with Tommy Egan (played by Joseph Sikora) after he cuts ties and puts New York in his rearview mirror for good.

Dorothy Canton and Chris Selak will serve as executive producers on the spinoffs.

All series will screen on Stan.

  1. I guess Starz must be getting their statistics from somewhere to make so many spin-offs, but for me the thankful conclusion to a lame Power finale was enough without even considering Power Book II: Ghost.
The finale could almost be called a doze off as the writers went into full soap opera mode to drag out the who killed Ghost story, it was like adding a rubbish song to the B side of a hit single because of contractual obligations.
With Curtis 50 Cent Jackson keeping an eagle eye on his creative investment there isn’t many people who are going to say ‘This aint a good idea’ to him is there.
