US drama High Fidelity, starring Zoe Kravitz, has been axed after a single season.
The 10 part series was based on the novel by Nick Hornby, which also became a feature film in 2000 and a Broadway musical in 2006. It centred around a record store owner in Brooklyn who revisited past relationships through music and pop culture, while trying to get over her one true love.
Also featuring Da’Vine Joy Randolph, David H. Holmes, Jake Lacy, and Kingsley Ben-Adir, it screened in Australia on ABC Comedy.

Zoe Kravitz was a gem as the lead in this somewhat nostalgic show, where vinyl was once the love and knowledge of our music. Not in my top ten of the year but enjoyed it none the less.
Vinyl is making a comeback. It’s CD releases that have gone the way of the Dodo. 10 episodes about someone obsessing about a break up with a totally boring character was 9 too many for me.
Wasn’t impressed-liked the film greatly, but this didn’t work as an extended series-that’s not to mention a record store as any sort of a viable business in the 2020s and the look of anti Coronavirus measures in NYC for an ongoing series…

Damn. Totally unexpected… This one hurts.
One of the best new shows of the year imo. Kravitz is magnetic and she was the unadulterated star of the show. She has an allure about her that is transcending. Gutted about this news.
