Seven Cricket: “Bring on Australia v India!”

While Seven is locked in arbitration with Cricket Australia it is happy to tout summer plans.

Seven may be locked in a tussle with Cricket Australia but it is touting matches to media buyers, in the hope all will be settled.

“Bring on Australia v India! 4 matches. Up to 20 days play. All in 33 days,” its Inside Seven newsletter announces.

Seven teased the following dates, which have been announced by Cricket Australia:

1st Day-Night Test
Adelaide Oval
17 – 21 December, 2020

Boxing Day Test
MCG, Melbourne
26 – 30 December, 2020

The Pink Test
SCG, Sydney
7 – 11 January, 2021

The Final Showdown
Gabba, Brisbane
15 – 19 January, 2021

“Plus 8 BBL matches to end 2020!” it added.

Seven and Cricket Australia are currently in arbitration at the Australian Chamber for International and Commercial Arbitration for Independent Valuation.

At Seven’s recent Upfronts CEO James Warburton said Seven loves the Cricket.

“We paid for and expect a first-class product and will hold Cricket Australia accountable to provide that quality this summer,” he said.

  1. Seven brought the rights to cover test and bbl! The 20/21 courage is only compacted by The Bangladesh test, which is going to be reschedule! It’s Seven problem they overpay the cricket courage over the 6 year deal they won a couple of season ago… In the meantime they can buy the voice and idol for what?? High cost per episode

  2. Interesting the change from SWM? I undoubtedly believe that the legal team have whispered into SWM ears and told them to play ball with CA No pun intended.

    1. Not really – they aren’t shown on FTA in other nations either.

Sport costs money – if you attended the sport it would cost you money as well..

ohhh… wait – you want something for freee…….

      gotcha.

      1. tihsamikah what are you talking about?

ODIs have been on fta for 30 years, the only reason they are no longer are is because Cricket Australia got greedy

        1. I think they are referring to other countries. NZ, UK and Indian cricket games are all exclusive to pay TV networks in those countries.

I’ll be watching the Indian series on Fox Cricket. It’s a breath of fresh air not to have Harvey Norman ads every 6 balls.
