Vale: ‘Deezer D’

US actor ‘Deezer D’, best known for ER, has died aged 55.

According to reports, the actor — whose real name is Dearon Thompson — was found unresponsive at his home in Los Angeles.

No official cause of death has been determined, but the family suspects a heart attack. He underwent major heart surgery back in 2009. During the gruelling six-hour procedure, doctors replaced his aorta and fixed a leaky heart valve.

‘Deezer D’ (pictured left) played Nurse Malik McGrath on ER on almost 200 episodes from 1994 to 2009.

Other credits included Bones, Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion and Raven.
