Axed: Truth Seekers

UK comedy by Nick Frost & Simon Pegg has been axed by Amazon Prime Video after a single season.

UK comedy series Truth Seekers by Nick Frost & Simon Pegg has been axed by Amazon Prime Video after a single season.

“Sadly, Truth Seekers will not be returning for a second season. Truth Seekers has not been renewed, which is a massive kick in the willy for me,” Simon Pegg announced on Instagram.

“We really put our all into this – our heart and soul, and blood in some cases, so to not come back is really sad for us. It’s a shame. I think we had lots of lovely ghost stories to tell – stories that will remain now untold. If you liked the show, thank you. And if you didn’t, are you happy now? Happy now?”

The eight-part series followed a team of part-time paranormal investigators who work to uncover and film ghost sightings across the UK.

It featured Samson Kayo, Malcolm McDowell, Emma D’Arcy, and Susan Wokoma as Helen.

  1. I wasn’t expecting much when I watched Truth Seekers but I did enjoy it, even though Simon Pegg looked like he was asked to stand in for someone at the last moment, silly wig and all.
Considering the varying sometimes poor quality of Amazon Primes other streaming content, dumping Truth Seekers does seem odd, maybe there’e more to this decision than we are told, the truth is still out there.
The final episode did give a hint of more to come, maybe Truth Seekers will be picked up elsewhere, the show would certainly slot itself in seamlessly at Netflix.
