US science fiction mystery comedy-drama (that’s a mouthful) Resident Alien will have it premiere on Nine next week.
The series stars Alan Tudyk as an alien sent to Earth to destroy the human race, and assumes the identity of a vacationing pathology physician.
It is based on a comic book of the same name by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse.
Nine originally announced the series for 9Now around 18 months ago but it only began in the US in January on Syfy (it has already been renewed for a second season).
It will premiere this with a double episode 8:50pm Tuesday on Nine.

Not too long ago I saw Alan in a guest role as a cult leader in forgotten Amy Sedaris comedy, Strangers With Candy (also including Stephen Colbert in the cast), a fine performance. Might have to have a peek at this new show.
Everything I’ve read about this has been extremely positive. Can’t wait!
Going by the separate post that ‘The Weakest Link’ will be debuting in this timeslot the Tuesday after, we will be seeing episode 3 at about 10:00pm at the earliest.
I’m already starting to wonder if I should bother.
Even Seven and SBS launch shows with doubles then move to single a week later, often in the later slot.
Alan Tudyk relishes playing oddballs and does them brilliantly. I’ll be up for this.
