UK true crime telemovie Anthony has its Australian premiere on BritBox tomorrow.

This is written by acclaimed writer Jimmy McGovern (Cracker, Hillsborough, The Lakes, The Street, Accused, Redfern Now).

A Royal Television Society nominated film released in 2020, Anthony is based on the true harrowing story of Anthony Walker, a black 18 year old teenager who was murdered in an unprovoked racist attack in Merseyside, England in 2005.

The film looks into the life of Anthony, a devout Christian and aspiring lawyer, and explores an alternative story of how his life might have turned out if he was not the victim of this deadly attack.

Anthony received a five-star film review rating by The Guardian UK. Written by Emmy and BAFTA award winner, Jimmy McGovern (Cracker) and starring Toheed Jimoh (Ted Lasso, The Power) and Julia Brown (World on Fire, Shetland, The Last Kingdom, M.I High).
